• Find your HVAC system

Most likely your HVAC unit will be in your attic, and it will have a pan under it with a 3/4 inch pvc pipe coming from it.

  • Locate your primary drain line

Locate the primary drain line: a 3/4 inch PVC pipe extending from the bottom of the unit. Look for a T-shaped junction in the pipe with a vertical 3/4 inch PVC outlet. If you find this setup, remove any cap present and replace it with the 3/4 inch cap provided with your unit. This cap includes a hole with a small clear tubing inserted through it. Ensure the T junction is positioned as close to the HVAC system as feasible.

  • Locate an outlet

If you have an outlet in your attic then you can either use an extension cord or place your unit near the outlet if it is close enough to the primary drain line.

  • Install a T if one does not exist on your unit

If you do not have a T in your primary drain line then you will need to install one, if you are not comfortable doing this, it is recommended that you hire a professional for install.  If you choose to install the T your self please be aware that all components of the T must be properly installed and glued together.  The Cap itself is not glued in place.

  • Secure the included 3/4 inch cap on the T

Once your T is in place simply secure the included 3/4 inch pvc cap on to the top of your T so the clear tubing goes into the T.

Do not use glue on the cap the cap is meant to be removable, and does not require glue.

  • Fill reservoir and plug unit in

Your unit is ready to transfer its first cycle fill your unit up with vinegar put the top back on the resevoir and plug unit in.  Once unit is plugged in it will begin its first cycle.  The unit comes preprogrammed to run for 85 seconds or roughly 1 cup every 30 days.

Enjoy the peace of mind that you have automated your preventative maintenance.

When complete your unit should look similar to this. Now all you have to do is leave it alone, and refill the reservoir in 12 months. Notice that the T is installed is as close to the HVAC unit as possible this is ideal as the Vinegar will flow down stream and make contact with all of the drain line.
